A nice house in a nice neighborhood

5/5 Stayed Jan. 2020

We stayed as a family of seven for 8 days at this property. Overall the place was very good, but there are things that one should know as to be better prepared for what to expect. Firstly, the house is VERY well kept. Someone comes to clean every weekday, beds are made, laundry done, floors cleaned, and garbage taken out. The kitchen is very well stocked, and everything in the house works. The outdoor pool and covered seating/dining area is lovely...... Some stuff that was a surprise.....The whirlpool (and pool) are not heated, nor is there an option to heat them. The kids did not care and after a few minutes in the pool I did not care either, but a warm whirlpool would have been a nice added touch. There is a wait for hot hot water, as you need to set a timer for 15 min and only then use the water, and even then only 2 out of the 4 bathrooms have hot water access. No toilet paper/tissues can be placed in the toilets, it is goes into a small garbage can next to the toilet. In the master bedroom, the king size bed is 2 small beds put together, and I do not like to sleep in the crack. There are very loud birds that wake you at the crack of dawn, yes this is still country living, but we managed to go back to sleep afterwards, and we learned that setting the HVAC unit to go on 'fan only' mode at 4am helped to drown out some of the sound. Also, there is a road that runs in front of the house. Many of the windows have screens and louvers but not glass, so the sound comes through quite easily, especially in the bedroom facing the front of the house. Overall I can see why this house is highly sought after in this neighborhood.

Beautiful Villa

Villa Reyna is a perfect mix of outdoor and indoor living. We used the outdoor areas about 90% of the time, and absolutely loved it! This space is amazing for a family, or friends to share! The staff were fantastic! We will be visiting Villa Reyna again!

A great week in Dom. Rep.

Villa Reyna is a fantastic place to stay. It is actually much roomier than the pictures. The 2 cabanas and the pool in the back are secluded and a great place to hang out. The beach is literally just steps away. At night when we sat on the front porch we could hear the waves, so relaxing. Housekeeper Stefanie was great. Alexis the property manager was also a big help and was willing to go the extra mile when we did not have hot water, he got the issue resolved quickly. There are a number of great restaurants very close (all of which only take cash). We did not have a bad meal there and the food was so inexpensive we ate out more often than we planned. Thank you Stephen for allowing us to stay at your wonderful place. All 3 couples had a great spring break.

The Anchor is a fantastic place to eat the food was excellent. El Carey has the best fish sandwich I have had, the empanadas were also delicious. Las Rocas steakhouse was worth the walk as was the Pizza place just down the road from it. Happy Hippo had the best Mojitos in town. If you are looking for good cigars, see the owner of El Carey he has the best cigars at the best price. Joaquim is also very helpful, he is the man just across from the Villa who will set up chairs for you. Just a great week and a great place to stay.

Villa Reyna - Paridise...

My wife, our adult daughter, and I stayed at Villa Reyna for 10 days and had an absolutely great time. Stephen was a pleasure to deal with both in the preliminary planning stage as well as the final few days before departure.

Nothing I could say would perfectly describe the property; it was everything they presented it as. The house was very well kept and decorated nicely. The back yard had a very unique feel with the exotic foliage, pool, hot tub, and two cabanas that offer absolute privacy.

The Beach is endless, we enjoyed walks down the beach daily. We are use to natural beaches since giving up the resort scene. This beach is very well kept, Joaquin and Papa work very hard every morning clearing seaweed from the beach. This beach reminded me of a resort beach with the atmosphere of a private beach. I went down to speak to Joaquin about renting chairs for the week, he made me a deal of $40 USD for 3 chairs and two tables for 10 days, perfect. Before I could return to the villa I got pulled into a game of beach Bocce Ball with the locals, they were very friendly and we had many more games over the days to come.

The local restaurants were great, after a couple of days we all had a hunger for a good burger so we went down the beach to El Carey and they did not disappoint. We also went to Sole Mia for pizza which was highly recommended and delicious.

We used Rene at RV Tours for transportation to and from the airport. The vans were nice, clean, and air conditioned. The traffic is stressful to foreigners so having an experienced driver was a huge bonus. We also used Rene for a private tour of Puerto Plata, he provided us with a driver and a tour guide, we had a blast.

All said, we had a great time and would definitely return for another stay at Villa Reyna, there is no other place in Costambar that can compete with this property. The location is right on the beach which nobody else has, this is the only villa “On the Beach”. We have rented many beach houses and this was by far the nicest yet not the most expensive.

The villa is exactly as the pictures show, lovely. We enjoyed proximity to the beach, the pool in the back yard, and the wonderful staff that took care of us. Couldn't have been better.
